    Description

Very rare and original, ca1905 Photograph of a fantastic Krug Brewery (Omaha, Nebraska) Advertising Horse Drawn Concord type Stagecoach. The The Stagecoach has a large group of well dressed men riding on the bench seats and the roof. The horses that pull the Coach each wear a blanket with text that reads “Luxus / The Beer You Like”.
Lusus Beer was brewed by the Fred Krug Brewery of Omaha, Nebraska and our best guess is that Fred Krug himself is seated next to the driver of the Stagecoach.
This original, ca1905Photograph measures approx. 8" by 6" and is unmounted. It pictures the overloaded Stagecoach standing in front of what appears to be a municipal building in Omaha – perhaps the City Hall.
The Fred Krug Brewery was located in Omaha, Nebraska. It was founded in 1859, Krug Brewery was the first brewery in the city. Krug brewed beer under several labels: Fred Krug, Cabinet, and Luxus. Krug supported an amateur baseball team called Luxus, taking them as far as the Amateur Baseball World Championship in 1915. Krug Brewery bought a park in the Benson neighborhood of Omaha in 1904, built a beer garden, added amusement rides, and renamed it "Krug Park". The park was successful until 1930, when a roller coaster accident killed four people; soon after the park folded. The brewery stopped operating during Prohibition (1920–33), and resumed operations in fall 1933 following its repeal. Three years later, the company was sold to Falstaff Brewing of St. Louis, Missouri.
This rare and wonderful, turn of the 20th century Lux Beer Stagecoach Photo is in good to very good condition. The Photograph exhibits sharp focus, strong contrast and rich, warm tonality however there is a chip at the lower left hand corner, a 1 1/2” repaired tear at the center of the top edge and some wear at the left hand edge. With a quality matting and framing the Photo will display nicely.
A rare and original, ca1905 Photograph of a fantastic Krug Brewery (Omaha, Nebraska) Advertising Horse Drawn Concord type Stagecoach and a fantastic addition to any collection!!

    Important Notes about Shipping Charges:
The amount quoted for Shipping & Handling is calculated by eBay and is equal to the EXACT amount charged by the Post Office plus a .00 "packing fee" - the .00 fee is our only compensation for the virgin packing materials we use on all of our professionally packaged boxes as well as our cost for the salaried help that does most of our packing - as I am sure you can see, we make NO profit on the Shipping charges and, in fact, our costs are usually greater than the .00 fee. Please contact us if there are any issues regarding the cost of shipping.
