Very rare and simply fantastic, ca1900 Card Mount Photograph of the interior of a combination Saloon and Barbershop!!
This outstanding, turn of the 20th century, Card Mount Photo measures approx. 7 3/4" by 4 5/8" and is mounted on its original card mount (overall size is 10" by 8"). Unfortunately, the location of this “manly” business is not identified in any way although it came to us with a collection of early 20th century, interior and exterior Card Mount Photographs of various businesses that included a number of Photos of California establishments.
This wonderful Photograph pictures the interior of a late 19th / early 20th century Saloon / Bar Room that was also a Barbershop. Pictured are two men and a boy standing at a beautiful, carved Bar with a bartender behind the bar. A Victorian backbar graces the wall behind the bar with a large mirror and shelves that display various bottles of liquor. At he right there is a Barber standing behind a wonderful Victorian Barber’s Chair and holding a towel in his right hand.

My first thought on viewing this fantastic Photograph was - “Wow!! What a fantastic idea for a franchise business!! Why hasn’t someone realized that a combination Bar / Barbershop would make for a franchise opportunity that would be a run away success today!!
This rare and wonderful, ca1900 Card Mount Photo is in excellent condition. The Photograph itself exhibits sharp focus, strong contrast and rich, warm tonality. The Image is clean and crisp while the card mount has some light edge wear.
