1880s Victorian Cabinet Card Photo- Sweet Toddler, Frilly Hat, Collar, and Bows. She looks to be about 4 years old, and her name Belly Lacey Haley. It must be Winter because she wears a winter dress, adorned with a lacy collar and bows. Likewise she wears a frilly bonnet with more bows. The Photographer, W. Shaw Warren established his photographic studio in Boston in 1862, and worked there 'till the 1880s. The photo is in very good condition, with very little wear. It is clear and sharp. The mount does have some mild soiling and the corners are a bit bumped. The is a little bit of wear to the edges and even more wear to the corners. In back there is also some mild soiling, but no surface wear. Please see all of the photos above to confirm the condition and contents.

A rare and original, "1880s Victorian Cabinet Card Photo- Sweet Girl Toddler, Frilly Hat, Collar, Bows from Boston, Mass."  It is an  outstanding, period cabinet card photograph, which measures approx. 5-5/8" X 4-1/8" (14.2 cm X 9.8 cm.)  and is mounted on its original beige Card Mount , which measures approx. 6-1/2" X 4-1/4" (16.5 cm X 10.7 cm.)
This fascinating photograph shows a cute little girl (about 3-4 years old) sitting on a typically victorian upholstered chair.  We know from the writing on the back of the card, that her name is Belly Lacey Haley.  It must be Winter, (or very drafty in the studio) because she is bundled up in a winter dress, adorned with a lacy collar and bows. Likewise she wears a frilly bonnet with more bows.  She seems to be content to be getting her photo taken, though surely her Mama told her to hold very still.   It worked.   It's a very engaging photo.
At the bottom of the card is the photographer's information: Warren, 29 Temple Place, Boston. Our research found the W. Shaw Warren established his photographic studio at that address in 1862.   And that he operated there into the 1880s.  The lovely chair and other props are typical of the 1880s.  That helps us date this photo.
